A part printed and part handwritten vellum indenture made for a 5 year apprenticeship between the Funeral company MUrrell Cork based in North Walsham and an apprentice indented for 5 years and signed by Murrell Cork and George and his father Robert Grimes of Knapton. payment would be 1/- a week for the 1st years and rising to 5/- at the 5th. No gambling, cards or dice, Taverns or Playhouses to be allowed. Murrell Cork has made a "X" as his signature. The ink is a little faded, but all legible, the relevant stamps and blind stamp are still all attached and 3 wax seals at bottom right. Measures approx 10 x 14 inches (25 x 35 cm), it comes larger as it has been loosely mounted in a recessed double mount ready to be framed, will remove and an send without the mount if required.
