Title pages in Spanish, and Ukrainian. Bla…ck-and-white portrait frontispiece of Shevchenko followed by two leaves of the original poem, printed in facsimile. Three leaves of photographs depicting various monuments erected to commemorate the revered poet and symbol of the Ukrainian nation, accompanied with a single leaf of [an unattributed] musical score, wherein, the poem has been adapted for music. Comprises of a remarkable fifty-five translations of possibly Shevchecnko's most venerated poem "Zapovit" or "Testament"; one which has been accorded a status second only to the Ukrainian national anthem. Includes translations in: Abkhaz, Azeri, Georgian, Tatar, English, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Armenian, Spanish, Estonian, Hebrew, Tatar, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Chinese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Komi, German, Ossetian, Polish, Portugese, Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Tajik, Turkmen, Udmurt, Uzbek, Hungarian, Finnish, Flemmish, French, Czech, Swedish, Japanese, et al. A printed index details the complete list of languages accompanied with the names of each of the respective translators. Exceptionally rare offering of this Ukrainian-Spanish imprint with only eight worldwide institutional holdings recorded in OCLC (#11842686), and, otherwise, unrecorded in commerce at time of cataloguing. Exceptionally well-preserved with no flaws to the extremities, contents equally without blemish; near fine. Rare indeed. A lovely offering through-and-through.
