SIGNED, paperback (VG+); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book will reduce your overall postage cost.

Paperback large trade, dustjacket, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), card covers, full-page black & white drawings, minor edgewear, copy 2. 77 pp. In his second collection of poems, based on the Aboriginal form of the manikay or song cycle, Colin Johnson (Mudrooroo Narogin) adapts the story of Dalwurra, the black bittern (a small bird sacred to Aborigines), to his own experience. He tells the story of his journey that leads from Perth in Western Australia to Singapore, then to India and finally to Scotland and England, to the Commonwealth Writer's Conference in Edinburgh - and then to London at the time of the Brixton riots. The return to Western Australia is not only a return to his own country but to full possession of his Aboriginal inheritance, a return which this poem celebrates. (1 of 2 available copies.).

Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. First edition. Foreword by Mary Durack. Small soil mark on foredge, light bumping at the crown, near fine in a very good or better dust jacket with light rubbing, and a short tear on the rear panel. Long considered the first novel written by an Australian Aborigine, Johnson became a dominant figure in Aboriginal literature. However, an article in 1996 revealed that, perhaps unbeknownst to the author, he was probably not an Aborigine at all (according to the article his mother was Irish-English and his father was African-Irish). Author's first novel.

Reprint ed. Paperback trade, very good condition, bottom corner tip rear cover little creased, minor edgewear. 142 pp. This Australian novel by Mudrooroo (Colin Johnson) is a sequel to his classic urban Aboriginal novel 'Wild Cat Falling'. Set in the boom years of Perth bankers and entrepreneurs, we see the same wheeling and dealing from inside Fremantle prison. Wildcat has to survive in prison, and understand the new order, set by the Chief Warder and an ex-Indian Army officer. Soon he too is part of their great creation, The Panopticon Prison Reform Society. (Originally published, 1992. This copy: New edition, 1995.).
