Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Thomas Moran (1997) HC/DJ monograph NGA/Yale; Tarn Ex Libris, Western Landscapes AUTHOR: Anderson, Nancy K.PUBLISHER: National Gallery of Art, Washington / Yale University Press (1997) EDITION: First Edition / First Printing BINDING: Hardcover /… Tan-oatmeal cloth boards housed in original color-illustrated dust jacket PROVENANCE & ASSOCIATION COPY: This copy comes from the personal library of the celebrated modern poet, translator, essayist, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn. Affixed to the front inside cover is Tarn's signature -ex libris- custom bookplate, featuring his iconic anthropomorphic sun face illustration. This adds an excellent provenance pedigree for collectors of American landscape art history and modern literature alike. CONTENT & ILLUSTRATIONS: An absolute monumental landmark survey published to accompany the extensive 1997 retrospective exhibition of Thomas Moran's paintings of the American West. The massive 400-page volume is heavily and beautifully illustrated throughout, showcasing 119 brilliant full-color plates and 215 crisp black-and-white illustrations documenting his depictions of Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and early frontier expeditions. Includes a definitive 97-page chronological overview, critical essays, and copies of Moran's personal correspondence and private artist lists. CONDITION REPORT: The overall condition is Near Fine. The internal pages are remarkably crisp, clean, white, and bright. The text block is completely free of annotations, highlighting, underlining, marks, or page corner folds. The binding is rigid, firm, stable, and perfectly square. The light tan cloth boards underneath are clean and show strong, unrubbed brown title lettering on the spine. The dust jacket is very good, displaying strong color depth and gloss with only minimal, standard edge curling along the upper rims. A beautiful, collector-grade institutional volume with a unique literary provenance. Location: Nt825n34. Yes, illustrated. (ilustrador).
