John Brown (1735-1788) fu il creatore del sistema chiamato Brownianismo, secondo cui lo stato di salute non Ë un fatto normale e spontaneo, ma un equilibrio tra continui stimoli: ogni sproporzione tra lo stimolo e l'eccitabilit? di un organo ha come conseguenza uno stato morboso.
