Spine has toned, with some rubbing to lettering. Pages have toned, with minor foxing. Top corner of page 371 is dog-eared; some minor creasing to a few other corners of pages. Writing in ink on front pastedown; writing in pencil on front free endpaper. Pages are otherwise free from markings. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photographs and reproductions of artworks. A festschrift published by the University of St. Andrews in honor of the 400th birthday of George Buchanan, Scottish scholar who was both a student and a professor there in the 16th century.
