Mit Aktaufnahmen der Tänzerin Olga Desmond und des Athleten Adolf Salge, mit weiß gepuderter Haut als "Marmor-Skulpturen", wie den "Raub der Sabinerinnen", "Das Weib oder die Vase" oder "Die badende Psyche". - Die Tänzerin Olga Desmond (1890-1964), "Preußens nackte Venus" (J. E. Runge), "in einer Reihe mit Adorée Villani und der berüchtigten Mata Hari, begeisterte das Berliner Publikum mit "gewagten" Nackttänzen" (Müller/Stöckmann: ". jeder Mensch ist ein Tänzer" S. 26 f.). 1907 begründete sie mit Karl Vanselow die sogenannten "Schönheit-Abende zur Förderung der Nacktkultur" und trat erstmals in Berlin vor 1400 Zuschauern auf, später auch in Dresden, Leipzig, Breslau und St. Petersburg. Die Tanz- und Pantomime-Vorführungen verursachten Stürme der Entrüstung. 1909 wurden ihre Auftritte im Berliner Wintergarten polizeilich verboten und sorgten für einen Skandal, der sogar den Preußischen Landtag beschäftigte. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg machte O. Desmond als Fim- und Theaterschauspielerin Karriere. Olga Desmond trat mit ihrem Partner Adolf Salge von "The Seldoms" u. a. in London, St. Petersburg, Warschau, Wien, Budapest und Paris auf. - "1894 begann die Neue Photographische Gesellschaft (N.P.G.) in Berlin-Schöneberg mit der Verarbeitung von Bromsilbergelatine-Entwicklungspapieren. Das Fotopapier war seit 1880 auf dem Markt und damit längst bekannt, aber erst die N.P.G. entwickelte unter der Bezeichnung "Kilometer-Photographie" ein Verfahren, es für die Massenanfertigung zu nutzen. Dies hatte inerhalb kürzester Zeit immense Folgen für das gesamte Fotografiegewerbe" (Karin Walter, Aktuelle Bilder vom laufenden Band, Die Postkartenproduktion der N.P.G., S. 56 ff. in Gütgemann-Holtz, Neue Photographische Gesellschaft Steglitz). - Vorderdeckel etwas braunfleckig, ohne das Textheft, außerdem fehlt eine Aufnahme der bekleideten O. Featuring nude photographs of the dancer Olga Desmond and the athlete Adolf Salge, with their skin powdered white to resemble 'marble sculptures', such as 'The Rape of the Sabine Women', 'The Woman or the Vase' or 'Psyche Bathing'. - The dancer Olga Desmond (18901964), "Prussia's naked Venus" (J. E. Runge), "in the same league as Adorée Villani and the notorious Mata Hari, thrilled Berlin audiences with 'daring' nude dances" (Müller/Stöckmann: " every person is a dancer', p. 26 ff.). In 1907, she founded the so-called 'Beauty Evenings for the Promotion of Nude Culture" with Karl Vanselow and performed for the first time in Berlin before an audience of 1,400, later also in Dresden, Leipzig, Breslau and St Petersburg. The dance and pantomime performances caused a storm of indignation. In 1909, her performances at the Berlin Wintergarten were banned by the police and caused a scandal that even occupied the Prussian State Parliament. After the First World War, O. Desmond pursued a career as a film and theatre actress.
