Story has 22 chapters with titles such as: One Way of Spending an Afternoon; Peggy Makes an Impression; Red Hair is Wanted; Peggy makes Good; Au n t Jane Must be Considered, etc. The author Maud Morin wrote a series of the St Agatha novels for girls. At rear of book is a treasure trove of book ads for juveniles: many of these are mystery and/o r b oarding school stories. 4o pages of ads. 250 pp. Good.

Illustrated title page. Born in 1871 in Lewisham, British children's author Maud Augusta Mary Morin was the daughter of Town Surveyor Henry David Morin, and his wife, Alice Elizabeth Burton. She was educated at the King's School, Warwick, and was most likely employed as an English teacher at a girls' high school herself.
