As this copy is in paper wraps, I assume that it was considered too fragile to take such. Original paper wraps, label on spine, front cover coming off, text uncut and unopened, paperspine label and spine worn at the ends, mostly in good plus condition.

Robert Washinton Oates (1875-1957) was an English antique dealer and philanthopist with a keen interest in natural history. In 1954 he was instrumental in securing Gilbert White's home, The Wakes, as a museum.
