It all started in 1979 with a subsidized municipal housing project that would soon become world-famous as the Hundertwasser House, but which is more properly known as the Hundertwasser-Krawina House, reflecting the painter's collaboration with the architect Josef Krawina. Krawina's role is documented in a permanent exhibition in the visitor's information center. This book is the first to tell the real story of how such a remarkable apartment building came into being. The photographs for the book were taken over the years and show a constantly evolving Hundertwasser-Krawina House from a variety of different angles. As the building is not open to the public, photographs are the only way for most non-residents to view the strikingly designed interior.
