Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Four additional pages in back advertise other books published by Dick & Fitzgerald. Pages are intact overall but back free endpaper is missing, front free endpaper has a piece missing at top measuring 4" (page's width) x 1 1/4," and there are pencil inscriptions on rest of front free endpaper and moderate age toning throughout. Covers are clean and intact overall but have a spot of discoloration on front, tiny spots of discoloration on back, and slight bumping to corners and head and tail of spine. A Good copy. A handbook on how to play chess and other table games such as backgammon, Russian backgammon, and dominoes. Pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy. With twenty page publisher's catalogue at rear. No publishing/copyright date provided but OCLC cites 1866 with later printing dates through the 1890s quite likely as Dick & Fitzgerald rarely dated any of their publications probably in an effort to keep older titles in their catalogue relevant. OCLC does cite a circa 1915 reprint under the amended imprint of Fitzgerald only. Folded four page brochure "Instructions for Playing Chess" laid-in between pages 104-105 published post-1912 per patent date included within advertisement at bottom of page 4. …
