Añadir al carritoHardback. Condición: Near fine. First Edition. 28 x 22cm. Hardcover in gilt-titled red cloth, 80pp. Privately printed. Many photographic illustrations. Printed in a limited edition of 75 copies, numbered and signed by Theo Manders, of which this an unnumbered hors commerce example. This book follows expert wine taster Theo Manders as he investigates the limited-production and highly acclaimed wines of Manfred and Elaine Krankl's Sine Qua Non. The first section constitutes a profusely illustrated diary and personal memoir of Manders' wine tastings, followed by a list of wines tasted, with their ratings, and photographs of the bottles and labels. Many of the winery's labels - designed by Krankl - are very artistic and eccentric in design, reflecting the winery's quirky and experimental approach. The wines have colourful names such as The Thrill of Stamp Collecting, Dangerous Birds, On Your Toes, Stockholm Syndrome, The 17th Nail on My Cranium, etc., with the bottles being unusually shaped. Institutionally unrecorded - not in OCLC or Copac. Covers a little shelfworn, gallery stamp to front endpaper, otherwise very good.
