This copy is in near fine condition bound in burgundy cloth covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and the upper board where there is also a blind thistle device. This copy is bright, tight, white and square There are some typical rubs and bumps to the extremities. There is a pencilled signature to the f.e.p. and a stamp of the issuing bookseller (Paterson, Sons & Co. Glasgow) A dustwrapper is not called for. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. This copy is from the seventh edition which is undated however the attractive tissue guarded frontispiece 'Proud Maisie' is by Frederick Sandys. The drawing is one of a series that Sandys made in 1867, each of which is known by the title Proud Maisie, and which was inspired by Walter Scott's poem Proud Maisie. The text of the poem, is set to music by Malcolm Lawson and is included in this book (pp 33). Ref AAA 1.

Songs include those with lyrics written by Robert Crawford, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns. In the publisher's original brown cloth. Externally, smart, with the odd mark to the extremities, including three marks to right edge of front board. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the front joint and edgewear. Slight offsetting to the free end paper, and the odd faint spot to paste downs. Internally, firmly bound.
