Book has a square spine, a very tight binding, and no…, tears or writing aside from an "X" written in ink at the top foredge corner of the first free endpaper. The textblock edges are clean and white. The cover (with same illustration as the dustjacket) has light edgewear, mild corner bumps, no soil or stains. The dustjacket (in new, protective Brodart) DJ has light with a chip at the bottom edge of the back paneledgewear , tiny corner chips and a wrinkle at the bottom foredge corner of the front panel, but no tears, the second part of MacDonald's story about the Princess Irene and Curdie, the miner's son. Curdie hears that Irene is in danger and he sets out to rescue the princess and the King, her father, from the wicked courtiers. Victorian fairy tales.
