As it is an unusual name, the author is probably the M.T. Tudsbery who, as civil engineer to the corporation, collaborated in the design of the BBC's Broadcasting House in Portland Place, London. The front wrapper is inscribed 'With the author's compliments. Francis Fox. July 1907'. The Simplon Tunnel opened on 19 May 1906 connecting Brig, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy, through the Alps.
