S. Izgoev [pseudonym of Aleksandr Solomonovich Lande], 1872-1935 [moved to fourth place in later editions] - A bibliography of ### responses was added to the fourth (1909) and slightly enlarged in the fifth edition (1910 - omitting V. I. Lenin's critique) -- This polemical response to the failed revolution of 1905 attacked the philosophical, political, and psychological flaws in the intelligentsia that had provoked it. Vekhi was prophetic in its warning that the intelligentsia's platform would result in ruin for Russia -- Several recent books and congress volumes stress the enduring value of these essays. Facsimiles, only from the later editions, have been issued. VG removed: a clean unmarked copy [Eng.: Landmarks, Signposts].
