Both of these works are part of the 'Moore's British Classics' series, and are bound Two volumes in one. 'The Rambler' is complete in four volumes. With an additional volume to the rear of the volume entitled, 'Letters From A Persian In England, To His Friend'. 'The Rambler' is continuously paginated, with a separate pagination for 'Letters From a Persian'. 'The Rambler' was a periodical by Samuel Johnson. This publication primarily featured essays and works of non-fiction, with a total of 208 articles published across the set. Samuel Johnson was a poet, essayist, literary critic and lexicographer. Born in 1709, Johnson was a committed Tory, and a devout Anglican. 'Letters From A Persian In England, To His Friend At Ispahan' is a series of letter written by the British statesman, George Lyttleton. As well as a recognised writer, George Lyttleton is warmly remembered as an important patron of the arts.
