A vintage photograph of Veit, who was friends with Islay Lyons and Kenneth Macpherson during their time in Italy. Another image of Veit appears in Islay Lyons: Photographs (1996). With Lyons' copyright stamp on verso, dated 1958 and a penned notation "Sandy." (12" x 9.5"). Very good, a bit of silvering to edges. An original vintage photograph taken by Islay DeCourcy Lyons. Longtime companion of Kenneth Macpherson, the two maintained a home in Capri for many year. They "adopted" Norman Douglas in his later years at the urging of Bryer (Winifred Ellerman) and he lived with the two until his death in 1952. This image comes from the Estate of Lyons and is in near fine condition.
