But Martha's mother died soon after and was buried in Wells Cemetery. Martha was determined to purchase land for a new cemetery but needed funds to purchase the land. As a means to get the money she decided to interview the old people in the three counties about their early experiences and to add to the needed money she solicited local businesses to purchase add space. She was successful and her mother was reinterred in the new cemetery along with other family members. A rather scarce local history. The resourceful Mrs. Lynch, who needed funds to create a family cemetery near her childhood home, collected biographical sketches from old timers in the three counties, solicited a multitude of local advertisers, and then had Lipes, Nelson & Singmaster (Decatur cigar box manufacturers) print 6000 copies of the book.
