Dr. Edith Belle Lowry (later, Lambert) (1878-1945) was recognized by the New York Times, upon the occasion of her passing, as a Òleader in public health work.Ó During WWI, she served as Acting Chief for the Bureau of Hospitals for the Department of Health.
