Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the multifaceted status of birds in the Victorian era, a period of profound social and scientific change. The author, a leading expert on Victorian literature, traces the cultural and symbolic importance of birds, from the beloved pets that filled middle-class homes, to the avian imagery pervasive in literary and artistic works of the time. Exploring the complex relationship between humans and birds, the book sheds new light on the power of nature to shape human imagination and culture. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
