Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good. LORENTZ, H.A.- KEESOM [editor] Das Relativitätsprinzip. Drei Vorlesungen gehalten in Teylers Stiftung zu Haarlem. Bearbeitet von W.H.Keesom. Leipzig, Berlin, B.G.Teubner, 1914. 8vo. In original yellow printed wrapeprs. . (52 pp.) GOOD copy. There is some wear around the edges, and some relatively heavy foxing to the ferw and last few pages; otherwise this is a nice copy. First edition in German. [++] this is an acceptable copy of the work by Lorentz (Nobel Prize 1902) in which we find the first German printing of the most recognizable formula in the world in its most recognizable form, E=mc^2. The equation would not appear in this form in a paper by Einstein under his name as author of a paper or article until April 1946 in "Science Illustrated". Weirdly the equation almost appears as "E=mc2"in a comic book in January 1946 ("Science Comics" 1/1) in the background on a chalkboard behind a lecturing Einstein. Of other interest is an appearance as E=mc^2 in "Revue Scientifique (Rose)" 1929 p. 340 the author listed only as "S.V.". Okay. There you have it.
