Hardcover. Condición: NF. Estado de la sobrecubierta: VG. 1st. This excellent history of No 14 Squadron RAF runs from its formartion in 1915 to its disbanding in mid-1946, although it was reformed soon after, but this account does not cover its further deployment. No 14 Squadron had a service record that was unusual, in that for the period covered it operated in the Middle East, Mediterranean, East African and Palestine regions in both World Wars and in between. Of particular interest in this history is the detail of operations in the East African campaign against Italian forces early in WWI, a conflict little covered in WWII literature. During the two world wars the squadron participated in eight defined campaigns, often using obsolete equioment, but with vim and gallantry. A fine squadron history. Three of the four co-authors served with the Squadron while Vincent Orange covered the squadron's early years and Air-Vice Marshall Stapleton was also co-ordinating editor. First edition of 1996, 310 pages including five appendices/bibliography, Squadron standard in colour on title page, many b/w photographs etc, four maps including double page e/papers, one chart, reproduction navigator's log for flight on August 27, 1943 loosely inserted, two indices, personnel and general (covering places, formations, units). Blue hard covers with gilt spine titles NF, text block also NF, no inscriptions. DJ, with Squadron crest in colour to front, is VG with small abrasions centre front edge, top edge/lower edge. Photos, Maps (ilustrador).…
