This book was originally written in the 1940s and was based on th author's access to Kipling's letters, diaries, papers, and interviews with friends and family. When the first draft was shown to Kipling's Daughter (Elsie Bambridge), she refused permission to print it. The author updated his original draft over the years and after his death in 1975 and Elsie's in 1976, the draft was brought to light and printed. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
