(prent): 28,5 x 17,1 cm De prent bevat alle elementen die zo kenmerkend zijn voor ijsvermaak: de schaatsers, de sledes, het kolfspel, de koek-en-zopie tenten, ze behoren tot een wereld waar met plezier naar gekeken moet zijn. Bijna 250 jaar geleden en nu nog steeds. Ook vandaag de dag beleven wij het plezier van de herkenning. Een voorstelling met ijsplezier heeft een universele waarde die niet alleen in vroeger tijd betekenis had, maar die tot op de dag van vandaag haar geldigheid heeft behouden. Over de Nederlanders schrijft een 18e-eeuwse reiziger, dat die anders langzame en onbuigzame schepselen in de winter plotseling een en al levendigheid vertonen.
