Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: not applicable. ".Even dogs and cats are protected by societies for prevention of animal cruelty. but the donkey seems to be fighting this survival-battle virtually alone. He deserves a lawyer. To prepare the case for the petitioners, we traversed the historical donkey trails through numerous libraries and newspaper offices throughout the western U.S.; the Dept. of Agriculture; the National Park Service; Library of Congress, and the Smithsonian---- marshalling the 6000 years of written testimony of many witnesses on behalf of this little animal, back to his origin in the African Nubian Desert. Perhaps this helps to explain why a retired Superior Court Judge culminates his career of some 50 years in the legal profession by writing a 'Jackass' book." Judge Wm. Long dedicated this 133 page volume to Elmer G. Sill. The book is from Sills personal library and is packed with his captioned photos of Harmony Lodge's own Ass, Cleopatra. In addition, he has the original birth program announcement of Caesar, donkey son of Cleopatra & Antony, & the program funeral announcement on Dec 7th 1948 of Cleopatra, Caesar's mother. E.G. Sills short story about the origin of Harmony Lodge & Cleopatra is tipped in at the end, together with a fold-out map of Harmony Lodge. Mary Ann Carruthers Akin (ilustrador).…
