(Auch der Bach, der aus zwei Quellen strömt, eint sei…n Wasser geruhig dem großen Meere.) In den 1890er Jahren entstanden Jakob Loewenbergs erste literarische Werke, in denen er sich trotz aller antisemitischen Anfeindungen zur Einheit von Deutschsein und Judesein bekannte. 1891 trat Loewenberg der jungen Literarischen Gesellschaft bei.
