His goal is to make beautiful books, and there is never any doubt that the object he creates is just that. his work is so outstanding that I have never seen anything like it in a lifetime of book collecting" quoting from the introduction by Pat Magarick. Many of the pages of this book are set in paper "picture frames" of the same color. The frames and pages are embellished by understated and quite fine gilt designs. A number of the serigraphs are beautiful in there hughes of yellow, gilt, salmon, aqua and gay. The serigraph pictures are as evocative as they are beautiful. The book is quarter bound in gray linen over marbled linen using the color schemes used throughout the book. There is a fine paper spine label with guilt lettering. The clam-shell box is made of fine gray board. This copy is one of 10 A.P. of an edition of 75 copies. For the collector of fine art and D'Ambrosio efficianatos, this book is one of the best examples of the genre. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Signed by Illustrator, Book De.

With an Introduction by Patrick Magarick and Handmade Paper by Madeleine Pestiaux BEAUTIFUL DECADENCE, BEAUTIFUL BOOK Taken from the collection "Sardonic Tales" published in English in 1927, this story written by the little-known romantic Symbolist poet and playwright, tells the tale of two Parisian women. The prose is beautifully crafted as is the book that contains it, a whimsical, complex feat of paper engineering and delicate touches, such as scalloped edges and swatches of serigraph color overlays, and cutouts within pop-up page settings supported by fabric attachments. The typeface is Greeting Monotone. The esperience is delightful. Faint stain to upper edge of clamshell, spine a little dull, overall near fine to fine. Hand sewn signatures bound in to the handmade case of pale blue cloth pillared spine over floral print fabric-covered boards, paper label spine Number 11 of 75 copies, signed by the artist Joseph D'Ambrosio.

No Binding. Condición: As New. map of Tartary, consisting of the Eastern part of Russia, Central Asia, China and Korea, first published by Nicholas De L'Isle in 1706. The map extends from the Peninsula of Korea in the east to the Caspian and Black Seas. The Great Wall of China is shown, as is the Silk Route, many roads and remote settlements, mountain ranges, rivers, etc. The wide swath of the Gobi Desert appears quite prominently, as does the Great Kingdom of Tibet, Cossack regions, the Country of the Mongols and many other features. De L'Isle was France's leading map maker in the early 18th Century and he and his heirs dominated the French map trade during most of the 18th Century.
