Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: VG. 4 Black three-ring binders. 3 have gilt decoration on front cover and gilt letters on back cover. Many leaves, mostly in plastic sleeves, many color and BW illus. 4 working binders for assembling the catalogue for the 2005 exhibition of this garden-related artwork. According to the press release, this was "an exhibition of paintings, works on paper, and sculpture, curated by the noted art critic Ronny Cohen. Representing abstract, realist, and conceptual treatments of the garden, the paintings and works on paper consist of over fifty examples by thirty postwar and contemporary painters, including Jennifer Bartlett, Jim Dine, and Joan Mitchell. The twenty sculptures, ranging in date from the 1890s to the 1940s, include works by such prominent American sculptors as Edward Henry Berge, Frederick MacMonnies, and Janet Scudder. Mostly figures and fountains inspired by the Beaux-Arts tradition or early twentieth-century modernism, the sculptures were originally intended to be placed in the garden." Two of the notebooks cover the paintings and painters; two cover the sculptures and sculptors. Included are the beginnings of the catalogue annotations as well as full-color reproductions. Additional information for each artist is found on multiple sheets within the plastic sleeves. The full-color illustrations are most often on photographic paper. Includes the gallery press release and a copy of an exhibition review as written by Joan Baum for The Independent. A unique and useful resource.
