Includes bio of Linford, chapters in the book, etc. Linford studied under a famous group of historians: Grace Hebard, LeRoy Hafen, Frederic Paxson, & Herbert Bolton. This book was a textbook for 7th - 9th graders, but it was written & published in a time when that age group had meaty material to study, & this one is not only meaty, but engagingly written. Railroads, Gold seekers, Yellowstone, Johnson County War & Tom Horn, Indians, Missionaries, Ranching & Ranchers, etc. Rare bookman & publisher, Fred Rosenstock published this book &, as Linford acknowledges, "permitted me to use his library of rare volumes and to reproduce rare items from his personal collection." Couple of thin ink black streaks on front cover, but not very distracting. Vg. No dj. Herd 1336, 6-guns 1338. Signed by Author(s).…
