Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. Presumed First Edition (NAP). Signed and Inscribed to Theodore Bikel on the first front end paper. Here is the inscription: 'For Theodore Bikel, Old friend, new friend, what ray of the moon shines on you under these changing skies? The stars are calling you to search the boundless h…eavens beyond the known which beckons with intimations of that which must be found. Fondly, Carole H. Leckner.' Only signed copy for sale on the Internet. Rare book. As you can see from the photos, the covers are in pretty decent shape. They have very minor soiling or discoloration. The lettering on the spine is legible but gets a little lost in the blue background. There is a light crease at the top right-hand corner of the front cover, probably from a bump because it sustains over most of the pages. It's not much of anything but I don't want to leave it out. There is also a small closed tear at the bottom of the spine. The pages are in very good condition. They are exceptionally clean. There are no placeholder creases, and no large creases. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. What are we to make of Fiddlehead Poetry and Fiddler on the Roof?? Hmmm. Here's a little something from Bikel's long Wikipedia profile: 'In 1959 he co-founded the Newport Folk Festival and created the role of Captain von Trapp opposite Mary Martin as Maria in the original Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. In 1969 Bikel began acting and singing on stage as Tevye in the musical Fiddler on the Roof, a role he performed more often than any other actor to date. The production won nine Tony Awards and was one of the longest-running musicals in Broadway history.' This book and some others that I have listed came from the library of Mr. Bikel's first wife who lives near by me. Inscribed by Author(s).
