LOOSELY INSERTED is a short one page printed 'additional note' about Lawrence's dislike of reviewing books, discovered by Weeks after the printing. A closely written piece about Lawrence's proof reading work on Wilfrid Ewart's Scot's Guard, with much mention of the young John Gawsworth and his friendship with Lawrence with whom he went on walks in Holborn. The book is dedicated to John Gawsworth and the writer and book dealer Iain Sinclair who 'scouted' the proof copy that occasioned this fascinating sidelight on Lawrence. Fine.

On the dedication page is printed: ''because of Iain Sinclair and to the memory of John Gawsworth''. It seems, although there is no explicit credit given to him in the text, that Sinclair in his bookdealing days must have found a proof of Scots Guard by Wilfrid Ewart with numerous corrections in Lawrence's hand. Loosely inserted in this copy is a T.E. Lawrence bookmarker made of printed card and purple ribbon. The ribbon colour has lightly offset onto the endpapers.
