The six men, leaders in the Fenian uprising of 1865, were arrested for treason by the British when the revolt collapsed and sentenced, first to death, then to hard labor for life in Freemantle. This is a book of the author's memories of the way the world was when he grew up in a Pennsylvania coal town. The book's exterior has a few very minor dings on the front cover's bottom edge as its only detriment, while the interior book, other than the author's and the illustrator's inscription and signatures and the stamp of the historical society to which it was inscribed, has no further visible extraneous markings, detriments or distractions and hence all of its printing and illustrations are all in a very well-preserved condition and the interior book remains tightly glued into its cover.
