Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Used. Battlestar Galactica (1978) Glen A. Larsen & Robert Thurston ? Scholastic ISBN: 42504078X Condition: Used (and proudly so) Strap yourself in, aspiring star warriors, for a gloriously dog-eared journey aboard the last battlestar in the galaxy ? a vessel that has survived Cylon onslaughts, cosmic peril, and, apparently, the tender mercies of Crappy Old Books? pre-owned inventory system. This 1978 novelisation, penned by Glen A. Larsen and Robert Thurston, delivers all the bristling laser fire, square-jawed heroics, and retro-futuristic earnestness you could cram into a paperback that has definitely been read at least twice by someone who may or may not have spilt instant coffee on chapter three. Inside these slightly yellowed pages lies the saga of Commander Adama and his determined rag-tag fleet fleeing the chrome-domed Cylons ? a mechanical menace so committed to galactic domination that they apparently had no time to invent necks. Meanwhile, Starbuck smokes enough cigars to qualify as an airborne chimney, Apollo broods in a handsomely responsible fashion, and Cassiopeia somehow maintains perfect hair despite living in a cramped starship that almost certainly smells like warmed batteries and space-socks. Is it high art? Absolutely ? if your definition of high art includes planet-levelling lasers, space dogfights choreographed like disco numbers, and an opening epigraph that practically shouts 1970s! in eight different fonts. This book is the perfect companion for anyone nostalgic for the era when sci-fi effects were 80% imagination, 15% matte painting, and 5% visible wires. In novel form, of course, the only wires are the ones binding the spine? which, in this particular copy, may be holding on through sheer willpower and the faint hope of a new owner. Yes, this edition comes in Used condition ? but at Crappy Old Books , we prefer the term ?pre-apocalyptically distressed.? Expect slight wear, a few characterful creases, and maybe a Cylon thumbprint or two. Think of it as authentic patina, the kind that says: this book has lived? and possibly survived at least one bookshelf collapse . Perfect for collectors, nostalgists, sci-fi archaeologists, and anyone who believes humanity?s future rests in the hands of a man named after a sportswear brand. So go on ? add this vintage slice of cosmic earnestness to your library. The Cylons are still out there, the fleet needs you, and this book needs a new home before it becomes sentient out of sheer loneliness.
