This memoir includes important military events that Sergeant Guillemard was a part of, including the Battle of Trafalgar, adventures in Corsica, and his return to France in 1822. Bound in full tree calf. Externally, a little worn, with the front board almost detached, held on by two cords only. Rear hinge has a small crack to the head. Rubbing to the joints and extremities. Small chip to spine label. Front endpaper and blank are a little strained. Otherwise, internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, a touch age toned with the odd spot. Good Only. His narrative of the escape of Murat from Toulon to Corsica. He was present at the battle of Trafalgar and was supposed to be the man who shot Lord Nelson? A very nice copy bound by Root in 3/4 brown morocco over marbled paper covered boards with matching endpapers, raised bands ruled in gilt with lettering and top edge gilt, a split to front free endpaper had been repaired.
