Broadside. Condición: Very Good binding. Broadside. 9.75" x 8." Old folds; some minor soiling to the verso, but largely a very nice example of a mid 19th century advertisement. A Baltimore Directory places LaPouraille & Maughlin on East Falls Avenue in 1856-7, but we've been unable to identify how long they were active. This advertisement appears to be generally contemporary with that time, though perhaps a decade or so later. A great broadside which includes prices. And a note near the bottom of the broadside stating: "the above work is Baltimore made and not Yankee or Susquehanna. Being the Oldest and most extensive Establishment in the Country, our work wants no flattery to establish its reputation." Despite such a self-proclaimed reputation in their day, there is little information readily available.
