Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very good. No jacket. Bin 3. First edition. Inscribed by the poet. Includes a Cal State Long Beach newspaper-- one of the Colleges Jeffers taught at-- with another message written, presumably to a friend on the front. A few tanned pages from the newspaper. Jeffers was a black Nationalist who really ended up in the periphery the Black Nationalist movement in the 60s. This might have been due to his growing up on his white grandfather's farm in Nebraska, then moving at ten to San Francisco to be with his mother. He was an academic who taught in colleges beginning in the early 50s, until his death in 1985.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good. 253pp. Pictorial soft cover with title and title on spine. "Witherspoon" by Lance Jeffers that delves into the African American experience, exploring themes of identity, struggle, and resilience. The story is set against the backdrop of the civil rights movement and provides a deep, introspective look at the life of its protagonist, Witherspoon, as he navigates the complexities of race and society. Jeffers' writing is known for its powerful and evocative prose, capturing the emotional and social challenges faced by African Americans during this pivotal time in history. The novel is both a personal journey and a broader commentary on the societal issues of the era.
