Decorated cloth. Condición: Very Good. Pop-up book with eight pop-ups in all, plus a pull or movable tab on the front cover. Oblong, 10 by 8 inches, or 26 by 21 cm. Kubasta illustrated pop-ups capture the charm and spirit of the classic fairy tale. Kubasta also pulled off a stylish mid-twentieth century look, streamlined and all splashy colored, while honoring more traditional aspects of fairy tale renderings, a feat that many of his contemporaries failed to achieve. Thus this appealed to children, who are notoriously conservative in their literary and artistic tastes, as well as the grown children who presented the book to the former group. All the mechanics of this copy function smoothly, and there are no losses. The cloth backstrip has some soilage, and there is some edgewear and and minor crease on the front board. Overall, a VG copy.

4to. Illustrierte Orig.-Halbleinwand Verlagsnummer 106. Auf dem Vorderdeckel befindet sich nur ein nachträglich montiertes kleines Firmensignet "artia REG. TRADE MARK" mit kleiner Darstellung eines geflügelten Schaukelpferds. Sonst keine weitern Verlagsangaben. Die Kulisse zeigt die Osterhasen bei Vorbereitungsarbeiten zu Ostern, eine Hütte mit Henne und Küken innen, einen Osterhasen mit Geschenkpaket und einen das Dach hinauf kletternd links; auf der rechten Seite einen Ziegengärtner vom Gartentor aus zuschauend; davor eine kleinere Aufstellszenerie mit 4 Osterhasen beim Eierbemalen auf der linken Seite, auf der rechten Seite eine Szene mit Eidechse und Frosch auf einer Froschleiter über einem Teich umgeben von 3 Entenküken; ganz im Vordergrund befindet sich Aufstellreigen (ursprünglich) bestehend aus Frosch, Küken, Katze, Hund, Hase und Schaf. Exemplar mit zahlreichen Mängeln: außen etwas berieben, Ecken leicht bestoßen; innen fehlen die 4 malenden Hasen, von einer Ente auf der Froschleiter sind nur noch die Füße sichtbar, einer weitern Ente fehlt der Kopf, beim Reigen vorne fehlt das Schaf, auf der rechten Seite einige kleinere Kugelschreiberkritzeleien. Weitere kleinere Zustandsmängel.

Halbleinen. Acht Aufstellszenen, teilweise mi Schiebemechanismen Roter Halbleinenband mit farbig illustriertem Einband (vorne und hinten) Querformat 20,5 x 26,5 cm; Acht aufstellbare Kulissenbilder mit teils beweglichen Teilen und mit Text. Einbandkanten und Leinenrücken leicht berieben und die Ecken unten etwas angestossen. Das Buch ist in einem altersgemäß guten Zustand. Ansonsten befindet sich diese Ausgabe in einem guten und sammelwürdigen Zustand. Heute nennt man diese Art von Büchern, Pop-up-Bücher. LA2/82 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 300.

Good only (moveable wheel on the front cover has become detached, has creases and is missing some of the knobs, blue cloth spine fraying. The Santa Maria ship pop-up is in fine condition complete with strings for the rigging, but the pop-ups for the other ships and the background need repair.) Despite the flaws in the condition, this is still a very attractive copy of an uncommon book.

Mostly complete though with a few creases and minor tears. Over all in good-very good condition. There is a small piece missing from the top of the front cover to the printed surface - not affecting the pull-out tab action or appearance.
