There were several lawsuits ranging from divorce to libel and slander and well as criminal prosecutions for adultery, perjury, larceny, and murder. These cases occurred over a ten year period. The author, to used rediscovered complete transcripts thought lost in the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, was himself a judge.
