I liceni polistopadoveho vyvoje je v knize velice kriticke a ostre, ukazuje prevlekani kabatu, bezcharakternost, touhu po penezich a konzumnim zpusobu zivota. Jde o mimoradne cenny a vyzraly romanovy debut, ktery neunika z ceske soucasnosti a nedavne minulosti, ale naopak se ji snazi zobrazit se vsi pravdivosti a nalehavosti.
