Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the relationship between tree diameter, site index, and log size and position within a tree, and their impact on lumber grade and warp of studs cut from young ponderosa pine trees. The author examines how these factors affect the incidence of degrade and warp in studs after initial kiln drying to either 19% or 15% moisture content, followed by additional drying to simulate the effects of unrestrained storage and at the job site. The book provides insights into the causes of warping in young-growth ponderosa pine, offering valuable information for buyers and sellers to determine the stumpage value of timber. It contributes to the understanding of the relationship between tree and wood characteristics, and the quality of lumber produced from young growth ponderosa pine.
