Condición: Good. 1969. Eighth reprint. 239 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over green cloth. Colour and black and white illustrations throughout. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some mild marking and tanning. Clipped jacket has light edge wear with minor chipping and creasing. Spine noticeably sunned.

All volumes in generally very good condition, some are slightly pushed at spine ends, most have a little dust marking to the upper text block edge, and some have a previous owner's name or inscription internally, else are neat, clean bright and tight. All in glossy, illustrated dust wrappers, some lightly bumped on extreme edges, some price clipped and almost all a little shelf worn and sunned, faded on the spine. A mixture of editions and printings but all in the style of dust wrappers introduced in 1970 - glossy and laminated with a distinctive square, framed illustration - and prevalent until around 1980. Observer's Pocket books is a series of pocket-sized books published by Frederick Warne and covering topics such as hobbies, art, nature and history. The first in the series - British Birds - was published in 1937. The 99th title, the Observer's Book of Observer's Books was released in 1999 (by Peregrine Books) in a matching format. The series was rounded to 100 with the publication of Wayside and Woodland in 2003.
