Original black cloth, backstrip and front cover with title in yellow and rules in green. Corner tips slightly rubbed, as a…re head & foot of backstrip. Short near-closed tear at foot of front hinge. Top edge of text-block toned & spotted and a little dust-marked, fore-edge sparsely spotted. Front endpapers with owner's blindstamp on flyleaf and same owner's small name-and-address sticker on blank section of pastedown. Binding holding firmly, contents clean and tight. VERY GOOD copy in POOR unclipped dust jacket chipped with loss, rubbed & grazed, lightly marked, and with repairs on the inside using white and manila paper gummed tape.

Condición: Near Fine. 11¾'' x 8¼'' landscape monochrome print on cream laid paper, typed details to the reverse. In very near Fine condition. The drawing is lifted from a 1933 Autocar photograph taken after the May 6th 1933 JCC Brooklands International 250 mile (not 500 mile race as shown on the print). Eddie came second in this… race and Elsie 'Bill' Wisdom finished 3rd in the car depicted, which is famously MG Magnette K3-003, Car 39 in the Mille Miglia that year by Captain G. Eyston and Count G. Lurani, As No 17 this same car also won the 1933 Ards Ulster TT at the hands of Tazio Nuvolari when his riding mechanic was Alec Hounslow. Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This very rare softback booklet was published by the Morris Oxford Press in 1932. The book was written by Cecil Kimber, the Managing Director of The MG Car Company Ltd, with a foreword by Captain George Eyston. The booklet is the story of the participation of the MG Midge…ts - 9 in all - which took part in the RAC International Tourist Trophy, or Ulster TT, at the Ards Circuit, held on 20 August 1932. The cars were all privately entered with minimal support from the factory. The book covers the arrival, practice, racing and the social aspects of the trip to Belfast. The title refers to the trials and tribulations of the MG drivers who had a number of mechanical failures and a couple of crashes as well as a 3rd and 10th place behind the class winning Rileys. The booklet, which is well illustrated with comtemporary photographs, is in remarkably good condition for its age although the centre page has now freed itself from the staples without damage. The sequel to this booklet, "The Luck Of THe Game Again" by Barre Lyndon is also available. Inventory # M4445.

(4 letters, full of assistance), Ernest Hecht at Souvenir Press confirming Haining's contract, Philip Jennings, historian of the Early MG Society, Cyril Mellor of 14/40 fame, Mike Allison, M.G. specialist, Don Hayter, Bob Patterick, an old friend who drove MGs, and Geoff Shirt, his letter includes his photocopied article on the 5th Kimber Birthday Run. Jennings and Hayter declined to contribute to the book. Other material includes a returned cheque for a back issue of Classic Cars not available and a page from Thoroughbred & Classic Cars. Letters dating from 1993 include two lengthy handwritten letters to Haining from David Saunders, editor of the T Register Yearbook for the MG Car Club with Haining's photocopied replies and his photocopied introductory letter (dated December 1992).
