One of the more interesting items for the Thackeray collector which includes descriptions written by him. Other contributors include Douglas Jerrold and Leigh Hunt. The illustrator Meadows was a prominent comic artist and was associated with Leech, Jerrold and Thackeray in formulating the idea of an English Charivari, and idea that Mayhew and Lemon expanded into Punch.
