Quarto, 28 x 19 cm Corners and top and tail of and spine bumped, cloth a little faded with occasional light marks, hinge starting to split in Vol I, some foxing throughout especially present to frontis and engraved tp of Vol III, bindings square with perhaps a little fragility but overall holding well and pages clean apart from the foxing, missing pp. 577 - 584 in Vol II containing eight pages of notes at the rear of the volume, good condition.

One plate and one page loose in volume II. There's some gentle edge wear to leaves in places and some faint and occasional spotting. A very heavy set of books.
