Within the Hussite movement a similar determination was mani- . ted only by the Taborites, although it did not succeed in creating a real church. It was the Unitas Fratrum which has preserved the essentials of the Hussite spiritual heritage, enriched, at the same time, by a singular divine endow- -:nt which it held forth through faithful service. The three prominent points ' the New Covenant, Faith, Hope and Charity, seem to appear anew as a matter ' both programme and action of the Brethren in times of distress as well. It is well known that this Church has been aboundingly afflicted by - oulation. Only the Valdenses seem to have suffered in the same degree, though aps, for a longer time.This Picture Collection is designed to make known to the present generation : life of the Brethren Church, a toilsome life, yet faithful and glorious from beginning. Going through this series of pictures one can see why this Church has been . .en the name of a "Pilgrim Church". Indeed, what a pilgrimage it was from remote village at Kunwald in eastern Moravia to those missionary Stations in Tbrador or in the equatorial Antilles on the African Coast or in the Tibetan malaya! And again, are there not the Mountains of Olives and of Karmel, mysl and Mladd Boleslav in Bohemia as well as Prerov, Ivancice, Kralice her sky Brod in Moravia; or places abroad as Lesno (Lissa) and Herrnhut Rixdorf and many others, and again new spiritual centres in the old country the first renewed congregation at the solitary and peaceful Pottenstein .
