The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The lovely color illustrations by Richard Scarry can be found on every page. The book measures 6.7" wide x 8.0" tall. About the author: (from the book) Kathryn and Byron Jackson have written a number of Golden Books, including FARM Stories, Cowboys and Indians, and Busy TIMMY. Both are graduates of Pratt Institute, and did commercial art before making careers of children's writing. They have two young sons, Peter and Timmy. About the illustrator: (from the book) After graduating from the Boston Museum School Richard Scarry did magazine art; during World War Il he was an art director in the army. He has illustrated Two LITTLE MINERs, also a Little Golden Book About the publishers: The Little Golden Books were printed in September 1942 and for sale in stores in October.
