Based on the 1962 novel, "The Light of Day" by Eric Ambler. Two ex-lovers plan to steal from Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. They hire a man to drive explosives for the burg…lary, but when the police stop him they assume he is part of an assassination attempt. Winner of one Academy Award for Peter Ustinov as Best Actor. Set in Istanbul, shot on location in Istanbul, Turkey, Kavala, Greece, Paris, France, and Hauts-de-Seine, France. Two photographs 10 x 8 inches, one photograph 7 x 9 inches. The last film film to be directed by Hollywood black-listed director Jules Dassin. Shot on location in Nice and Paris, France, and the USSR. 8 x 10 inches. A tiny bruise in the far bottom margin, else Near Fine.

The st…ory's events surround the death of Martin Luther King, framed as a remake of "The Informer" (John Ford, 1935), in turn based on the 1925 proletarian novel by Liam O'Flaherty. Shot on location in Cleveland, the first US film for noted director Jules Dassin (who had left the US at the height of the McCarthy hearings) in nearly two decades. 26.75 x 41 inches.
