A famous adaptation of this historical theme was Friedrich Schiller's play with the same title which premiered 1783 at the Hoftheater in Bonn, Germany. Published in honor of Rudolf Koch for his 50th birthday, a German type designer, in Maximilian-Gothic on the hand press of the Officina Serpentis on request of Gotthard Laske and Gustav Wisburn on November 11, 1926. Text in German. Binding with light wear and discoloration along edges. Light offsetting of marbled front flap to title page. Pages uncut at foredge and bottom edge. Light foxing at top of inside back cover and free endpaper. Wraps in overall good, interior in very good condition. Joseph ha-Kohen (14961575) was a Jewish historian and physician. His major work was the Dibre ha-Yamim le-Malke Zarfat we-'Otoman, a history of the world, from which this text is taken, representing the conflict between Islam and Christianity.
