A scarce ecclesiastical and local-history volume documenting the dedicatory services for the new edifice of the Third Presbyterian Church of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The work brings together the ceremonial proceedings and addresses associated with the church's dedication, offering useful material for researchers interested in Presbyterian history, nineteenth-century American religious life, and Pittsburgh institutional history. It also has bibliographical interest as a printed record of a specific congregational occasion. An important source for the study of church ceremonies, denominational culture, and urban religious institutions in post-Civil War America. The volume will appeal to collectors of Pittsburgh history, Presbyterian imprints, and nineteenth-century American church publications. Book images are non-contractual.
